A beautiful, 3-piece shaving set for a stylish wet shave, including a razor blade.
Traditional safety razors are now regarded as marvels of precision and beauty. Whilst the exposed blade may command a little respect at first, after a short period of getting used to it, you’ll come to appreciate the close shave provided by this classic tool. For style in the most masculine of all grooming rituals!
The ‘bog oak’ material: the bog oak handle gives the brush a timeless and high-quality appearance that will adorn any bathroom! Rare bog oak is not a distinct species of wood, but is formed from oak that sank into a bog many centuries ago and was thereby naturally and permanently preserved. The tannins in the bog give it a rich, dark colour. As these trunks are now extremely rare to find, this material is a true rarity.
The ‘Genuine Badger Hair’ brush head: Badger hair produces a particularly fine, creamy lather. Badger hairs are very flexible and do not mat, even when wet. The individual hairs are slightly stiffer yet still soft, creating a lovely massaging effect.
How to use: Shaving with a safety razor takes a little practice. Your skin also needs some time to get used to the shave. The following tips will make getting started easier: Moisten the beard area with water that is as warm as possible, and lather it thoroughly using circular movements with the shaving brush. The longer you lather the beard, the easier and gentler it will be to cut the hair. Where possible, use one of our deeply moisturising shaving soaps to help the blade glide more easily over the skin. Make sure the razor head and handle are firmly attached to each other. However, only tighten the screw enough so that it can be loosened again without too much effort. This ensures the blade sits at the correct angle. Now begin shaving. Place the safety razor against the skin at as flat an angle as possible (approx. 30°). Start on the cheeks and let the razor glide over the skin with gentle pressure. Always shave in the direction of hair growth (‘with the grain’). Shave the neck area by stretching the skin there with your hand. Don’t let minor nicks put you off straight away. Experience shows that nicks are rare once you’ve got used to it.
Replacement blades are also available from us.
