Ash shaving set, steamed 3-piece shaving set
3-piece shaving set for a stylish wet shave, including a razor blade.
The material ‘steamed ash’: Ash is – after beech and oak – one of the most important native hardwoods. It is particularly common in Europe in the more northerly regions.
Brief but intense heating ensures a high resistance to water and gives the wood its brown colour and distinctive grain. To preserve the natural appearance of the surface, it is treated only with oil and not varnished. This ensures the wood is perfectly protected against water and is therefore particularly durable. As this is a natural material, colour variations may occur which may differ from the illustration.
The ‘Pure Badger Hair’ brush head: Badger hair produces a particularly fine, creamy lather. Badger hair is very flexible and does not mat, even when wet. The individual hairs are slightly stiffer, yet soft, allowing for a lovely massaging effect.
Use: Shaving with a safety razor takes a little practice. Your skin also needs some time to get used to the shave. The following tips will make getting started easier: Moisten the beard area with water as warm as possible, and lather it thoroughly using circular movements with the shaving brush. The longer you lather the beard, the easier and gentler it is to cut the hair.
Where possible, use one of our deeply moisturising shaving soaps to help the blade glide more easily over the skin. Make sure that the razor head and handle are firmly attached. However, tighten the screw only enough so that it can be loosened again without excessive effort. This ensures the blade is positioned at the correct angle .
Now begin shaving. Place the safety razor at as flat an angle as possible (approx. 30°) against the skin. Start in the cheek area and let the razor glide over the skin with gentle pressure. Always shave in the direction of beard growth (‘with the grain’). Shave the neck area by tightening the skin there with your hand. Don’t let minor nicks put you off straight away . Experience shows that, after a period of getting used to it, nicks hardly ever occur.
